Friday was a busy day as I had the plumber and the electrician both here to disconnect the services in the kitchen ready for us (well M only seeing as I am pretty useless at the moment) to remove the kitchen cabinets on the weekend

I was up early as I had work paperwork to do and then the plumber arrived at 7 AM. We asked him if it was possible to cap off the water pipes above the dishwasher tap so we could still use the dishwasher as it will be another three weeks or so until everything is finalised he said that was nice and easy.

At 9 o’clock The electrician came and removed all the power points in the kitchen as well as removing the old range hood and disconnecting the hot plates.

Then he set about running a new circuit in readiness for our new oven.

We do still have power in the kitchen from the new circuit that he ran a little while ago on the new wall.
So at the moment we are living in organised chaos. we have our camp table set up behind the couch with most of the kitchen sitting on it.
The oven is sitting on top of my mobile office and I bought a small 2 burner hotplate

M went to work on Saturday morning, but was home around 10:30am and it was time to start ripping out the kitchen cabinets.

Surprisingly it did not take very long starting with the removal of the benchtop and then slowly unscrewing each cabinet and prising them off the wall.
Unfortunately, behind the wall, we did find a lot of mould, and we will need to address that.

M was able to keep the drawer unit and the next cupboard and that has replaced the camp table.  Now our temporary kitchen has plenty of room for storage with all the drawers.

The next step is the removal and relaying of the floor tiles.
